I am thankful for:
God!
I left the best for last! I am so thankful for such a wonderful, forgiving, loving, and merciful God! What is not to be thankful for?

Day 29 of 30: Extended Family
I am thankful for:
Extended family!
This is my husband's family that have welcomed me as one of their own. We spent Thanksgiving with them this year. I am thankful to have these people in my life.

Day 27 of 30: Larry
I am thankful for:
Larry!
Larry is our elf. He comes to visit every year at Christmas time. My youngest daughter's birthday is at the end of November. The past 2 years we have sent an email to Santa asking if Larry can come after her birthday so that he can spend Thanksgiving with us. This has been her birthday wish, and, luckily, Santa has granted it.
Larry is a messy little guy. We never know what to expect every morning when we wake up. He has had a snowball fight with marshmallows, made it "snow" by shredding toilet paper, built a zipline through our den, and so much more. What I am most thankful for with Larry is the smile that he puts on my children's faces! Priceless!

Day 26 of 30- Good health
I am thankful for:
Good health!
In February of 2010, I stopped smoking. In order to do so, I signed up to compete in a triathlon. Since then, I have completed numerous 5K's, 2 triathlons, 2 long distance bike events, and 6 Half Marathons. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with the health and ability to complete these goals.

Day 24 of 30: Godparents
I am thankful for:
Godparents!
This is "Uncle" Rick and "Aunt" Peggy. These 2 people are absolutely amazing! We are so blessed to have such wonderful additions to our family. We are fortunate to be able to visit them every summer so that the kids get to know them better. Rick is the kids' godfather...and Peggy has been adopted as their godmother by association! They are so sweet and loving to our babies! Thank you, Uncle Rick and Aunt Peggy!

Day 23 of 30: Flowers
I am thankful for:
Flowers!
I planted these flowers last summer and have just loved them. They bloomed in the Spring and then again at the end of the Summer. We were able to enjoy them twice which I had no idea would happen (I am definitely not a gardener!)

Day 22 of 30- Pedicure
I am thankful for:
Pedicures!
This is one of my absolute favorite ways to relax and pamper myself. I am a runner so my feet can get pretty gnarly looking pretty quickly. This is also one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon with a friend...just chatting and relaxing while someone pampers us!

Day 21 of 30- Birthdays
I am thankful for:
Birthdays!
I am a HUGE birthday person! I celebrate a WHOLE month for my birthday and for the family members in my house. I love making a big deal out of one of my family member's or friend's birthday. It is the perfect day to show someone how special they are to you!
November is my youngest daughter, Lexie's birthday. Happy Birthday, Lexie!

Day 20 of 30- Books
I am thankful for:
Books!
I love how books can take you away...to far away places...to times past...to elaborate lifestyles...to simple lifestyles...so many different lives! A character in a book can become like a new best friend...that I am sad to see leave once the book is finished.

Day 19 of 30- Ocean
I am thankful for:
The ocean!
The ocean always calms me! I don't know if it is the sound of the ways crashing, the gentle breeze that it produces, the smell, or the warm sun. It's probably all of these! I just love it and it seems like a wonderful thing that God has given us!

Day 18 of 30- Sweet doggy
I am thankful for:
Big Z (aka Puppy)!
"Puppy" has the sweetest disposition. He is so calm and loving. When he was a puppy, he won a competition for Mr. Barkaroo...and it didn't even go to his head! :O)

Day 17 of 30: Flappy Jaws
I am thankful for:
Baxter!
This dog is hilarious! Look at that face...who could not love those flappy jaws?
He is so friggin' strong that the Hubs thought this would be the best way to "walk" him!

Day 16 of 30- Provisions
I am thankful for:
God's provisions!
My family has been abundantly blessed this past year! In this economy, so many have been affected. It is important to our family to give back as much and as often as possible. I pray that I am always thankful for all of our blessings. You never know when it could be you that are needing that help!

Day 15 of 30- My home
Today I am thankful for:
My home!
A house is just a house but a home is where...your heart is! I feel very blessed to have a beautiful home. However, what makes it so special to me are the people and pets that live inside it!

I am thankful for:
Relaxation!
In today's society, we are encourage to go, go, go...and do, do, do...and work, work, work! I am thankful that God encourages us to relax...to take a day of rest!
All of my close friends know that I take the above "signature shot" when I am truly and completely relaxed. This one happens to be my very favorite one of all because it was taken in one of my very favorite places in the world...The Mariposa hotel in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

I am thankful for:
the Fall Moon!
I love how huge the moon looks in the Fall. Last night the sky was cloudy. I loved to watch the changing look of the moon as the clouds passed in front of it, especially since the moon was so bright that it lit up the earth below it.

What a beautiful day today! It was a bit cold but the sunshine always makes it appear to be warmer than it is. My kids also enjoy being outside when it's sunny!

(Oops! Didn't get this out yesterday on Veterans' Day)
I am thankful for:
All of our soldiers, past and present, that have fought to protect our nation's freedom...and for the families of these soldiers that have made huge sacrifices as well.

Day 10 of 30: Running Friends
Today I am thankful for:
Running Friends
This is a picture from our Saturday morning run. It was cold...and slightly dark...and foggy. However, a few of my running friends met at the Greenway for a brisk morning run. Only those that are insane enough to pick up this sport can truly understand! As crazy as it sounds...it felt so refreshing!

Day 9 of 30- Friends
Today I am thankful for:
Truly, deeply, real friends!
Proverbs 27:9
"The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense."
You know the ones...the ones that will tell you if you have spinach between your teeth...that will notice if you got a new haircut or lost a couple of pounds...will make you laugh until you are crying over something only the two of you can understand..know when you are sad but are pretending to be fine...will call you out when you are wrong...will stand strong beside you when you can't stand strong alone. Yeah, THOSE friends!
I believe that we get to a place in life where we find those handful of people that know you...really know you...the good, bad, and ugly...and still love you! Those are the ones that we make the time for and we cherish. Those are the relationships that we protect with all of our power because those are the ones that fill our hearts and souls.
One of my friends gave me the best compliment that anyone has ever given me tonight. She sent me at text that said "At times it feels selfish to be your friend. You are appreciated"! Wow! My heart is about to pop! What an amazing thing to say to someone...I will hold onto that text forever! I feel the same about all of my true, dear friends. It is selfish that I get to be their friends...but I'm not giving them back! :O)

Day 8 of 30- Fall Colors
Today I am thankful for:
(Photo compliments of Lauren Ludlam)
The beautiful colors of the Fall leaves!
Isn't it amazing how God decided that, while these leaves die, they would put on a wonderful show of colors for us? That was really nice of Him!

Day 5 of 30- My daughters
Today I am thankful for:
My beautiful daughters!
These girls amaze me everyday...and make me want to be a better person. Both of them are excellent students, smart and hardworking. They are both talented in their own ways. They both love Jesus too! What more could a Mom ask for?
They also are insanely in love with animals...ALL animals! We volunteer at the local humane society (PAWS). I'm not sure that I ever see them work as hard as they do when we go there. They walk the dogs, clean out their cages, and bathe the dogs. We also get the cats and kittens out to "socialize" them. They would be happy if we spent hours there! Their sweet, loving hearts just warm my mommy heart!

Day 4 of 30- THIS Man
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" Ephesians 5:25
"Wives respect your husbands" Ephesians 5:33
Today I am thankful for:
My husband!
I am amazed at what a wonderful husband and father his is. His faith and trust in God is growing everyday. He is building a successful business. He also is so good at the little things...bringing me a cup of coffee every morning, keeping fresh flowers in the house for me, cooking my favorite meals (and he is an amazing cook!)...the list could go on! He may not be perfect...but he is perfect for me!!!

Day 2 of 30- God Moments
"I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord" Jeremiah 24:7
I am truly blessed to be surrounded by people that hear God speak, experience His grace, and are willing to share these experiences with me. Today I am thankful for:
God Moments!
(This post has nothing to do with the lake but this picture just "felt" like God to me...peaceful and serene)
My husband has a hereditary eye disease called Retinoschisis. As he ages, his eyesight is deteriorating. Reading in the mornings is becoming more difficult for him...maybe because his mind/eye connection is not "awake" yet. That being said, he was feeling frustrated and sad this morning when he struggled to read something. Yesterday, he and I went for a 3 mile run. During this run, we met a blind gentlemen who was taking a morning walk. After we said "Good Morning" to him, his response was "Good Morning! It's nice to see you today"! Wowwwwww!!! Talk about perspective! My husband remembered that moment when he was struggling this morning. He felt that it was God speaking to him that things could be worse! This was his God moment that he shared with me!
I was then speaking with my best friend whose father is slowly dying. This friend is caring for her father and experiencing some wonderful moments with him right now. However, there is one subject that she needed to talk to him about and get affirmation and closure on. She has been hesitant to bring it up because it felt negative. Last night, they were sitting around talking about everything. He brought up a subject that opened the door for her to be able to state these feelings that she was having. They were able to talk about it in a gentle, kind, and loving way. He was so wonderful to affirm her and she now has closure on this matter. It was almost like God spoke to her father and said "She needs this conversation". That was her God moment that she shared with me!
Again, I feel so blessed to have these people in my life...to remind me to look for and experience God's love. There are times that we don't hear His voice...but His actions speak deeply to our hearts.

Day 1 of 30- Lazy Puppy Dogs
Going around Facebook is request for everyone to post one thing that they are thankful for everyday for the month of November. I think that my goal will be to blog about one thing that I am thankful for instead. This will kill 2 birds with one stone: I can conquer my goal of blogging more and I can participate in this wonderful idea!
So today I am thankful for:
